Matthew J Jackman The 47th Lorne Conference on Protein Structure and Function 2022

Matthew J Jackman

I, Matthew Jackman, am a PhD student that is working under Michael Landsberg's lab group, focusing on structural biology of protein complexes using cryo transmission electron microscopy (Cryo-TEM). My work is based on the structural and biochemical investigation of the nucleosome remodelling and deacetylase (NuRD) complex. This has involved low resolution single particle analysis of the NuRD and NuDe complex (NuRD without the CHD4 subunit) using negative-stained EM; testing of alternative crosslinking methods, in particular agarfix; and the screening of grid freezing conditions to obtain cryo-TEM data for single particle analysis of NuRD.
