Allison Kraus
Dr. Allison Kraus is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University, where she started her independent laboratory in 2019. Dr. Kraus obtained her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Alberta in 2011 before continuing her training at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, NIH as a postdoctoral and subsequently, research fellow. The Kraus lab studies the self-propagating misfolded proteins, aka protein seeds, of neurodegenerative diseases. They aim to understand the structural underpinnings and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the formation and accumulation of the disease-associated protein seeds of Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementias, and prion diseases.
